You're almost there. Use this checklist to make sure you're ready for college. Check off the different tasks as you complete them so you can stay on track as you prepare for college. If you have any blanks, try to get them completed as soon as possible. This checklist is set up in our suggested order of tasks, but may vary based on your individual situation.

• Identify Career Interests



• Identify School Evaluation Process



• Select a Major / Curriculum (You May Choose Not to Declare a Major Your Freshman Year)



• Search for Schools Matching Your Interests / Major



• Schedule Initial Campus Visits



• Apply for Scholarships




Senior Year-Fall

• Make the Grade Your Senior Year



• Retake College Entrance Tests to Improve Scores



• Submit Applications to Schools and Write Any Essays Requested



• Ask Your Teachers for Letters of Recommendation



• Schedule Additional Campus Visits for Your Top Choices



• Research Financial Aid Options



• Apply for Scholarships




Senior Year-Winter/Spring

• Complete FAFSA and or CSS



• Receive SAR with EFC



• Forward Test Scores and Financial Aid Forms to Selected Schools



• Receive Admission Letter(s) from College Admissions Offices



• Receive Financial Aid Offer Letter(s) from College Financial Aid Offices



• Calculate Excess Need above Available Financial Aid for Each College



• Accept Chosen School's Acceptance and Award Letter



• Submit Requested Deposits



• Complete Dormitory and Meal Plan Forms



• Confirm Completion of ALL Financial Documents



• Apply for Additional Student Loans if Necessary



• Take Any AP Exams Available



• Graduate from High School




Summer After Senior Year

• Get a Summer Job



• Have Your Final High School Transcript Sent to Your College, if required



• Attend Incoming Student Orientation Day



• Plan Personal Monthly Budget



• Contact your New Roommate



• Get Your Stuff Together



• Schedule Classes



• Plan Your Move-In



• Go to College
